My name is Wendy Byrne and I have worked at Wallkill Nursery School since September, 2007.  My husband and I live in Wallkill, but are originally from Newburgh, NY.  We have two children that attend Wallkill Central Schools.

I have a Bachelors degree from Mount Saint Mary College in Newburgh, NY in Business Administration and worked in the finance industry for 10 years until becoming a stay at home mom when my children were born. I have worked at WNS as a Teaching Assistant for the past ten years.  The experience and knowledge that I have gained has prepared me to take on a new challenge.  As the Lead Teacher in the Pre-K class, I am excited about getting your child ready for Kindergarten and look forward to a great year.

Michele Amthor - Teacher 3 year old program

Hello everyone!  My name is Michele Amthor and I'm excited to be the new teaching assistant in WNS's 3 year old classroom!

I grew up in Montgomery, NY on a small farm with my brother and 2 sisters.  Coming from a big, boisterous, Italian family, there were always children running around and I can remember always trying to play the "mother hen" so to speak!  I've loved being around kids since I can remember.  Eight years ago I married my husband, Brian Amthor, and 2 years later our wonderful son William was born!  William is now 6 and is a former student of WNS.  We had such a wonderful experience that I've stayed involved in as many ways I can. That being said, I was able to make such amazing friendships and such treasured connections with all of the children here!  When this position became available there was no question I would apply.  I'm sure glad I did too because I'm enjoying it so very much!

I look forward to watching your children grow and learn each day.  I also look forward to getting to know you, the parents.  Thank you and I look forward to such wonderful adventures with your kiddies and a great school year!
